The library invited Bookuu to set up an exhibition booth there. Readers can select their favorite books. Staff in the library can register the information of the reader and the book and process the data so that the readers can borrow the book. This is the so called “you order the book and I pay for it”. According to the library, the activity is to better meet the readers’ demand for book reading and also to make the library inventory more reasonable and practical.
“I want to recommend you a book. It is called ‘A Cat Who wants to be a Teacher’...”The audio book recommendation at the book market also attracted many readers. As learned, “Good Voice” is a program that readers recommend books in audio form, encouraging participants to select a book from the 100 recommended books of Yangpu in 2014 or other favorite books of their own. Then, they can create an audio file for the recommendation and post it to the weibo or wechat of Yangpu District Library so as to share with other readers.
Books are to share and pass on. The library has launched “Schoolbag Reading Relay Race”. There are three books in the schoolbag. One family gets the schoolbag and mark the weibo of “Yangpu District Library” , reads the books and shares what the family has learnt from the books and in text form and with pictures. After reading all the books, the family has to pass the schoolbag to the next family. According to the library staff, after getting the schoolbag, the family needs to add the wechat of “Yangpu District Library” to their buddy list and send “name/nickname+mobile phone number+code of the schoolbag” to the wechat of the library. The family can keep the schoolbag for 28 days maximum. All the schoolbags will be claimed back by the library in the end of the year.
