"Which color of garbage should sanitary papers and fresh-keeping bags be put into, as dry garbage?" Recently, in the Sanmen Community Neighborhood Center, a garbage classification shadow play compiled and directed by kids attracted many community residents to watch.
Yang Hetian, a student from the College of Science University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, is the "Chief Director" of this shadow play. Over a month, he organized parent-child to make shadow play puppets, self-polish scripts, arrange rehearsal of characters…and leveraged the light and shadow technology, to assist the children inheriting excellent traditional culture of China, while learning the knowledge of garbage classification.
Yin Shen, a fourth-grade student of Zhengli Road Primary School almost followed Yang Hetian to "immerse in" the shadow culture throughout the summer vacation; Yin Shen told the reporter that he never had a close contact with the shadow play previously. A month ago, once Yang Hetian showed the shadow play Crane and Turtle, Yin Shen was fascinated by the performance behind the scene. "This time I make shadow puppet of Peppa Pig on my own, and dub it as well, very interesting." Not only the kids are passionate, but also many parents are delighted, because there are parents among the behind-the-scene staff of this shadow play.
The mother of Yue Mingyue from Zhengli Road Primary School meticulously designed floral skirt for her daughter's character image; throughout the performance, she held a flashlight in cooperation with her daughter to "dance" on the curtain. "This time, I follow the kid to find the memories of childhood." Yue Mingyue's mother feels most gratifying that after learning shadow play for a summer, the daughter has not only become a talent of encyclopedic garbage classification knowledge at home, but also greatly enhanced the language expression and hands-on ability.
