Aslearned,Fudanistocontinuewiththeexaminationsaswrittentestforindependentenrollmentin2014.Theschoolhopestoreplacetheseex-aminationswithHighMiddleSchoolLevelTestsin2015.However,theplanisstillwaitingforapprovalfromtheMinistryofEducation,whichmeans2014willbethelastyearforFudantoconduct“1,000Scores”testiftheplanisapproved.
Fudanstarted“1,000Scores”examinationswhichisofficiallycalled“FudanLevelTest”in2006toindependentlyenrollstudentswithwrittentests.Thetestsinclude200itemsforstudentstochooseonChinese, mathematics, English,politics,history,geography,physics,chemistry,biologyandcomputers.Rightanswerforeachitemmeans5
scores;noanswermeansnoscore;wronganswermeansminus2.Allrightanswerstothe200itemsmeans1,000scoresintotal.Inthepastyears,alltheseitemshavebeengivenbyprofessorsoneachsubjectastrustedbyFudanUniversity,based onthe requirementsthatfundamentalknowledgeshouldbethefocuswithoutitemsbeyondthescopeofwhatistaughtinmiddleschool.Somestudents,however,complainedthatthe“1,000Scores”examinationsaremoredifficultthanthecollegeentranceexaminations.
InSeptember,ShanghaiMu-nicipalEducationCommissionan-nouncedtoreformthehighmiddleschoolleveltest,pointingoutthattheleveltestisanimportantwaytoevaluate comprehensively thelearningofhighmiddleschoolstu-dents,testandguidetheeducationqualityofhighmiddleschoolsinShanghai.Theresultsoftheexami-nationsshallserveasanimportantreferenceforuniversitiestoenrollstudents.Therefore,whethertheresultsoftheleveltestwillreplaceindependentexaminationsofuni-versitiesinShanghaihasbecomeafocusofattention.
Aslearned,Fudanwon’tcancelthe“1,000Scores”examinationsin2014andwillfundamentallysticktothetestmodelin2013.Specificde-tailsfor2014examinationswillbepublishedwhentheuniversitieskickoffindependentenrollmentfor2014asarrangedbytheMinistryofEdu-cation.AsrequiredbyShanghaiMunicipalEducationCommission,Fudanislikelytoreplacethe“1,000Scores”examinationsin2015withthehighmiddleschoolleveltest.However,relatedplanshavetobeapprovedbytheMinistryofEdu-cationbeforeofficialannouncementtothepublic.
