The well-arranged and planned First Branch of Yangpu District Social Welfare Institute was opened.

　　The First Branch of Yangpu District Social Welfare Institute, is located on 802 Huaide Road and is a six-story building covering 7400 square meters with 295 beds which are mainly for old people with dysfunction and dementia. The retirement home mainly offers 6-people rooms, apart from some 4-people and double rooms. Two 6-people rooms constitute a care unit that is equipped with the public activity area, the dining area and the care desk.

　　"All our beds are specially tailored with a three-step adjustable barrier to prevent the elderly from falling off the bed; we also quip advanced toilet cleaning on each floor, which can clean and disinfect while sealed to prevent infections." Said Qiao Yihao, Director of Yangpu District Social Welfare Institute, “In order to prevent patients from getting lost, we have, in addition to the monitoring access control system, attached a special 'button' to all the elderly- an intelligent sensor which will sound the alarm once the elderly leave home. "
