　　ShanghaiD&Ifeaturessustain⁃ableinnovationdesignandinterdis⁃ciplinaryeducation,focusingonin⁃telligentandsustainabledesignfacingindustrialtransformationandurbanlifeandcultivationofleadersofsus⁃tainabledesigninnovationtalents.ThepurposeistomeetthesignificantstrategicdemandofShanghaiandeven the country for innova⁃tion-drivendevelopmentandindus⁃trialtransformationandupgrading.

　　Shanghai D&I will introducehigh-qualityandhigh-endeducationandscientificresourcesofinterna⁃tionalandinterdisciplinarylevel.Forthestartphase,theschoolwillrecruit90postgraduatestudentsfromhomeandabroadforthreemajors,namely,InternationalDesignBusinessMan⁃agement,CollaborationandIndustrialDesign,CreativeSustainableDesign.Onethirdofthestudentswillcomefromabroad.Graduateswillgetamaster’sdegreeofdesign,industrialdesignengineeringandart.Graduateswillalsogetthemaster’sdegreefromAaltoUniversityandadiplomaofShanghaiD&IjointlysignedbyTongjiinChinaandAaltoinFinland.ShanghaiD&Iwillcarryouthigheducationonindustrialdesignbutoffernodiplomas.Theschoolhastherighttorecruitstu⁃dentsindependently.Theschoolisalsoactivelyplanningtospreadthequalitydesigninnovationresourcesandedu⁃cationtohighschools.
