Recently,theCommunityCol⁃legeofYangpuDistrictwasofficiallylaunched.Asatotallyfreecommu⁃nitycollegethatareavailabletores⁃identsincommunitiesonavolun⁃teeringbasis,itwillmakefulluseoftheMOOCplatformprovidedbyShanghaiAssociationofScience&Technology,andprovidepeoplewithflexiblestudyexperiencesbymeansoflectures,onlineclassesandprac⁃ticalactivities,whichareavailableandopentoeveryoneinthecom⁃munities.Inadditiontothis,thecommunitycollegewillbeextendedtosub-districtswhichareeligible.Bytheendof2016,YangpuDistrictwillbefullycoveredbytheteachingpointsofthecommunitycollege.

　　It’stoldthatthecommunitycollegeistargetedatolderandretiredresidents,newresidentsinthecityandtowns,workersfromtownstocity, unemployed residents andteenagers.Accordingtothespecificneedsofdifferentgroupsofpeopleandthepracticalsituationofthecommunities,thecommunitycollegewillbuildthecoursesaroundissuesconcernedbypeoplesuchasscience,technology,energysaving,environ⁃mentalprotection,medicaltreat⁃ment,healthcare,securityanddan⁃gersavoidance,andprovideavarietyofpracticalactivatesandexperienc⁃estoenhancetheeffectsofteaching.
