On 14 October, insidetheGuanghuaTowerofFudanUniver⁃sity,a36-hourlongHackathonac⁃tivityHACKxFDUwasabouttobegin.ThemedonHackthon,it’satechnological innovation activityheld by the Communist YouthLeagueCommitteeofFudanUni⁃versityandFudanUniversitySchoolofComputerScience,andsupportedbyShenzhenThinputerTechnology.300participantsformuniversitiesacrossthecountryhasgatheredto⁃getheratFudanUniversity.Theyareundergraduate,graduateandPhDstudentswhoarefightingfortheirdreams.High-techcompaniessuchasIBM,Microsoft,AppleandHua⁃weihavealsosenttheirrepresenta⁃tivestogoallthewaytotheendoftheactivity.

　　Thesupportersofthisactivityarealltheleadingtechnologycom⁃paniesinChinaandSiliconValley.It’sworthnotingthatIBM,Microsoft,Apple,andHuaweinotonlyhavesentrepresentativestoparticipateinthewholeactivity,butalsoseenitasanimportantstagetoshowtheircoreopen-sourcetechnologies,andcre⁃atealinkwithnewgenerationde⁃velopers.What’smore,GitHub,thelargestrepositoryhostingserviceandopensourcecommunityintheworld,andtheThielFoundation,aninvest⁃mentfoundationcreatedbyPeterThiel,theauthorofFromZerotoOneandtheco-founderofPayPalhavepartneredwitheachotherforthefirsttimetojointheactivityheldinChina.

　　Gathered together by theHackathonatFudan University,thesetechnologicalgiantswerein⁃teractingwiththecompetitorsbymeansoftechnicaltrainingandlec⁃tures, open-source technologicalforums,andenterpriseforums,toexploretheneedsofdeveloperstothemaximumandhelpthempro⁃motetheapplicationofopensourcetechnologies. With supportfromthosetechnologicalgiants,compet⁃itorscanlearnveryquicklyanddrawstrengthfromtheiropensourcetechnologiesandresources.Basedontheircooperationandinterac⁃tionswithenterprises,theprojectteamshaveovercamethetechno⁃logicaldifficulties,anddevelopedproductsthataresuitabletothemarketandtechnologicaldemands.

　　Whileprovidingcoretechnolo⁃giesandhelpingcompetitordevelopinnovativeproducts,thesecompa⁃nieshavealsousedHACKxFDUasadirectroutetorecruitnewtalentsforrelatedjobsandplacements.
