Tesla recently opened its first Shanghai experience store, the Tesla Center, at CHUANGZHIHUI (998 Anbo Road), an innovation center within the Wujiaochang business district of Yangpu District.
"Different from Service Plus for after-sale services and Retail Lite for car sales, the new store is a multi-purpose demonstration center, where customers can view cars, make appointments, and also get car inspection, repair, and maintenance services," said the store manager Huang Xianchang. The new Tesla Center is the first store of such kind to wrap sales and after-sale services into one, an exploration of a brand-new business model, which is exactly in the spirit of the DACHUANGZHI Innovation and Development Demonstration Area - innovation, openness, and inclusivity.
The Tesla Center has introduced a "no-contact test drive" service in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Customers can remotely sign a test drive agreement with the store, decide a time and location, and then store staff would remotely have the car ready for customers to test-drive for one hour. "If customers want to buy when the test drive is over, all the procedures can be finished via remote operation and Internet, without contact with salesperson at all. And Tesla has also updated its Enhance Summon feature, which allows drivers to remotely call their car to drive itself to the owners, a perfect mix of environmental protection, artificial intelligence and personalized service," said the store manager, Huang Xianchang.
Located at the intersection of East Guoding Road, Anbo Road, and Xiangyin Road, and nicknamed the "sixth angle" of the Wujiaochang business district, CHUANGZHIHUI was renovated from an old construction machinery plant, and has become the highlight project of DACHUANGZHI. Earlier this year, a leadership team was formed by Yangpu District to lead the development of the Dachuangzhi Demonstration Area, which was set to become "a world-class city sub-center driven by technology and innovation, and Shanghai's first national-level demonstration area of service industry." With "service platform, specialty industry, and openness and inclusivity" as its three major features, it aims to promote the overall high-quality development of the service industry. At present, there has been about 3,900 enterprises signing up, with over 70 innovation platforms created, and 70,000 people working, living, and studying there, and an ecosystem for innovation is steadily forming.
