　　At 10 o'clock in the morning on January 18, Ms. Dong drove her child to the hospital for a follow-up visit within the scheduled admission time. At the hospital's gate on Jiangpu Road, with a parking reservation in advance, Ms. Dong drove onto the "Express Lane for Parking Reservations" and showed the staff her reservation. Then the staff directed her to park at a designated location. The whole parking process took only 5 minutes if you have a reservation. And when you leave, you can use online or automatic payment to pay the parking fee. "Convenient, caring, and efficient" is what Ms. Dong said about the service. "This is the second time I have made a reservation on my phone. It is so convenient, and I will never have to worry about parking anymore," said Ms. Dong.

　　It is reported that through this newly launched service on the "Shanghai Parking" platform, you can reserve parking space 3 days in advance, that is, users can reserve parking spaces within 3 days from the next day of the reservation. The hospital currently offers 100 parking spaces for reservation every day for its opening hours. You just need to make a reservation in advance and don't have to worry about parking at all.

　　Liu Xudong, deputy director of the Yangpu District Municipal Public Works and Water Affairs Center (District Traffic Management Center) told the reporter: "By making a parking reservation, limited parking resources of the hospital can be accurately matched with the most urgent parking needs. With dedicated lanes and online and automatic payment methods, the users' parking experience and parking management of the hospital are greatly improved. In addition, it serves to remind people to choose public transportation when no reservation is left for the day. "

　　For a long time, due to the limited parking space in hospitals and surrounding areas, long queue of cars in front of hospitals, especially top-tier hospitals, is a daily occurrence, which often worsens the congestion on nearby roads. To solve this pain point, Shanghai government launched a special program targeting parking difficulties, and one of its key tasks is to solve the parking problems of some hospitals during specific periods of the day.

　　The Shanghai Municipal Transportation Committee and the Municipal Road Transportation Bureau took the lead in formulating the program and based on "Shanghai Parking", a public parking information platform launched in the fourth quarter of last year, piloted the above-said parking reservation service at Xinhua Hospital. This service aims to alleviate parking problems of hospitals by accurately matching parking resources with needs and improving utilization of parking spaces.

　　The Yangpu District Transportation Committee, District Transportation Center, District Traffic Police Department, and Jiangpu Road Sub-district actively cooperated in work such as the connecting of parking lots data, traffic design inside and outside hospitals, optimizing guide signs, trial operation tests, and on-site management, etc. Other parties such as Shanghai Hospital Development Center and Xinhua Hospital have also contributed to empowering hospital parking management with "smart parking" to improve convenience and experience for people going to hospitals.
