　　YICGGwasinitiatedbyFudanUniversityandtheUnitedNationsDevelopmentProgramin2007.Thisisthefirstglobalcompetitioniniti-atedbyaChineseuniversitytoad-dressglobalgovernancebysolicitinginnovativeideasfromcollegestu-dentsworldwide.ItisalsothelargestglobaleventforstudentsinChina.

　　Theeventhasbeenheldforfourtimeswithmorethan300partici-pantsfromover20countriesandregionsincludingChina,theUnitedStates,Japan,ItalyandGeorgia,etc.Theeventhassuccessfullysolicitedmanyconstructiveproposalsonis-sueslikeglobalgovernance,humanfutureandenvironmentalprotection,etc.SomeoftheproposalshavebeenpresentedtorelateddepartmentsoftheUnitedNationsforreference.

　　YICGGismostlyorganizedandparticipatedbystudents.Thecom-petitionhasattractedhugefeedbackfromstudentsgloballyandispraisedtobeacademic“Olympics”fortheyouthintheareaofglobalgover-nance.Aslearned,theprimarypur-poseofsettingupYICGGwastoprovideaplatformforyoungstu-dentstogettogether,communicateandgrowtogether,andgivetheirvoices and opinions aboutkeyquestionsandsolutionsforglobal

　　YICGG2013,the5thintherow,willbeorganizedbyFudanUniver-sity,oneoftheinitiators.TheSchoolofInternationalRelationshipandPublicAffairswilltakecareoftheorganizationalwork.HuiyinGroupbasedinShanghaihasprovidedfullsupporttotheeventthisyearandhasdonatedRMB500, 000toFudanUniversityandtheorganizingcom-mittee.

　　YICGG2013willgoinfourdif-ferentstages.

　　StageIisforparticipantsfromworldwidetoselectpublicaffairsthatisrelatedtothethemeofthecompetition,designandpresentin-novativeandproactivetreatmentproposals.Theexperts’committeeofthecompetitionwillrevieweachoftheproposalsandselectthefirstroundofwinnersbyMaythisyear.

　　ThethreeremainingstageswillbecarriedoutinFudanUniversityinJulythisyear.StageIIisfortheroundofwinnerstocometoFudanwiththeirproposalsforexhibitionandissuanceoftheirproposals.Atthisstage,theorganizingcommitteeofthecompetitionwillinviteauthoritativescholarsfromhomeandabroadtodoon-the-spotappraisalandselect“BestInnovativeProposals”.

　　StageIIIandStageIVarethemostspectacularpartofYICGG:InStageIII,allparticipantswillsetup“WorldTeam”bydrawinglots,breakingtheoriginalteamandna-tional boundaries according toYICGGrules.Thenewteamswilldesigninnovative,feasibleandef-fectiveproposalsonaspecifictopicassignedbytheorganizingcommit-teewithinasetperiodoftime.

　　Thefourthstagewillforthefirsttime adoptthe most popularroundtablediscussion“WorldCafé”.Alltheworldlyteamswillcarryoutroundtablediscussion,fivepeopleoneachteam,atasettimelimit.Asruled,teammembersateachtablewilltaketheirturntomovetoan-othertableandjointhediscussionforeachhour.

　　“TheMostValuableProject”willbeelectedthroughthe“WorldTeam”and“WorldCafé”processes.“TheBestInnovativeProposal”and“TheMostValuableProject”willbepresentedtorelateddepartmentsoftheUnitedNationsbytheorganizerforreferenceafterfinalandfeasibleplansandreportsaredevelopedthroughimprovement.
