HighSchoolAffiliatedtoFudanUniversityhasrecentlyunveileditsArts&ScienceSchool,thefirstofitsinmiddleschoolsinChina.21pro⁃fessorsfromuniversitieshavebeenemployedtobetutorsofthestu⁃dentssoastoadapttothereformofthecollegecentralexaminationthatincludesthepolicythattheartsandsciencedepartmentswon’tbesep⁃aratedwhiletheprocessevaluationishighlighted.Sofar,120studentshavebeenindependentlyrecruitedbytheschoolandstartededucationintheArts&ScienceSchool.

　　Thenewlysetupschoolfocusesoncultivationofthecomprehensivequalityofthestudentsandadoptsindependentcurriculum.Studentsintheschoolreceiveindependentad⁃ministration as well. Availablecoursesincludefourmajorcatego⁃ries,i.e.,maths,science,humanitiesandsociety.Artssubjectsarenotseparatedfromsciencesubjects.Amongthefacultyoftheschool,50%oftheteachersarefromtheschool;30%areuniversityprofessors;20%arepart-timetutorsemployedfromexternalinstitutions.Atpresent,21professorsfromwell-knownuni⁃versitiesinShanghaihavebeenem⁃ployedtobetheteachersofthisschool.TheseprofessorswillactaslifecoachandacademictutorofthestudentsintheHighSchoolAffiliat⁃edtoFudanUniversity.
