    OnJanuary15th,YangpuDistrictandShanghaiOrientalPearlMediaCo.,Ltd.signedastrategiccoopera⁃tionagreementtoshareresourcesandadvantageswitheachotheronthebasisofNextGenerationBroad⁃castingWirelessSystem(NGB-W),thuslayingasolidfoundationforbuildingthevitalareaofthescienceandinnovationcenter,facilitatingnewmediaconvergenceanddevel⁃opingShanghaiintoan“Internet+”smartcity.

    Developedformobileapplica⁃tionsandusingthegoldfrequencyspectrumofradioandtelevision,

    NGB-Wisamedianetworkbasedonintelligent convergence and inte⁃gratestheadvantagesofradioandtelevision wireless broadcasting,broadbandmobilecommunicationandinternet,andfunctionsofmulti⁃casting,interaction,high-speedac⁃cessandcontrollability.

    Throughthecooperation,thenationalNGB-WTechnologyLabwillemergeinYangpuDistrict,promotingthe construction of nationwideNGB-W demonstration zone byguidingitsstandardformulation,in⁃dustrialexplorationandstrategicplanning.Thetwosideswillgathertogetherrelevantapplicationservicecompaniesandselectsomecommu⁃

    nities,schoolsandbusinessdistrictstobuildpilotsmartcommunitieswhichcanprovidesmartservicesbeneficialtoresidents,includingap⁃plicationsofsmartstores, smarthomefurnishingsandsmartchargingposts.Atthesametime,throughthenetworkmonitoringsystem,thetwosideswillworktogetherwithrelevantcompaniestobuildabigdatacenterfordatacollection,analysisandpro⁃cessing,providingservicesforthefurtherdevelopmentofnetworkap⁃plications.

    ThecooperationwillhelpYang⁃puDistrictenhanceitsinformationinfrastructureconstruction.Specifi⁃cally,itwillimprovethelevelofthe

    district’sinformationizedapplica⁃tionsinanall-roundway,thuscon⁃tributingtothebuildingofthenewall-aroundinformationized pubicserviceapplicationsystem;speeduptheconstructionofe-governmentcharacterizedbyinformationsharingandsystemintegration,increasinggovernmentserviceefficiency;andbringinleadingenterprises,R&DcentersandscienceandtechnologyserviceorganizationsinareasofnewtechnologiestodevelopShanghaiin⁃toascienceandtechnologycenter,thussignificantlyenhancingthedis⁃trict’sinnovationabilitybyforminganindustrialchainrepresentingfu⁃turescienceandtechnology.
