On their first day at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, freshmen for college and for post-graduate programs received a special gift: Yangpu Enterprises Map, which is marked with technology parks, start-up service bases and public service institutions in Wujiaochang, a full demonstration of the entrepreneurship atmosphere of Wujiaochang.
As Yangpu District is positioning itself as a major undertaker of developing Shanghai as a Technology and Innovation Center to facilitate the Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation policy, Wujiaochang has become a center for start-up companies. With recourses and elements from commercial zones, universities, technology parks, communities and military camps, the area is of considerable advantages for start-up companies. The sub-district authority has established various start-up service platforms to facilitate the interaction among start-up parks, training bases and incubators, which have fostered an environment for the entrepreneurship in this area.
In this May, after a collection of materials on start-up resources and institutions, the Wujiaochang sub-district authority invited designers who graduated from Tongji University to draw the Yangpu Enterprises Map, over 10 thousand copies of which were prepared to newly-admitted students in Fudan University, Tongji University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
