Shanghai encourages and supports enterprises and institutions to conduct COVID-19 nucleic acid testing on newly on-job (returned) employees from some areas, as needed by resumption of work and production. The Yangpu District Central Hospital's testing point has started operation since April 10, after intense preparations.
At present, the testing point only accepts reservations of enterprises and institutions in principle, and individual applications are rejected for the moment. On the second floor of Public Health Building of the District Central Hospital, a waiting area of about 60 square meters in total and three independent sampling rooms have been specifically divided as an independent zone.
"According to the reservation time, testing is conducted by batches, and the throat swab sampling can be finished in 5 minutes per person," introduced by Wang Junpeng, Deputy Director of Outpatient Office of the District Central Hospital on April 15; the sampling specimens will be tested by a third-party testing company designated by the District Health Commission. The result is normally available within 8 hours, and then the District CDC will send the test report to all entities. Once the test result is found positive, relevant departments will lose no time to handle according to the work standards.
The time for hospital to perform nucleic acid testing lasts from Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 5 pm every day. It is learned that enterprises and institutions need to first call the District CDC (Reservation Consulting Tel: 25010026) for application; the District CDC will issue an appointment registration form to enterprises; after receiving the notice, relevant employees can carry the ID card to the designated medical institutions for sampling.
