New Jiangwan City Ecological Corridor has been a great leisure place for local residents. However, it had been seldom frequented at night because there were no lights until mid-January this year. The story began with a post on the BBS forum of New Jiangwan City on Soufun.com that caught a lot of attention with its title “Ecological Corridor has finally lighted up.” The reporters did a field investigation on the corridor.

　　At 17:30, the LED lights along the corridor were turned on. As the corridor winds its way along the river, it looked so beautiful with the lights shining in the evening.

　　The entire lighting system of the corridor adopted a variety of different lights including LED spot lights, light belt, small spot lights, mini spot lights, etc. Besides lighting up the road, the entire scenic spots including pavilions and platforms along the corridor have been decorated with the lighting system. What worth special mentioning are the eight LED light posts installed in the open space at the crossroad between Zhayin Road and Zhengyue Road. These lights are very high tech as they adopt wind/solar dual power system.

　　Even if it was a winter evening, we could see a few people who were either walking their dogs or exercising to keep fit along the corridor. When the weather warms up, the corridor will definitely attract more people.

　　The lighting system of the New Jiangwan City Ecological Corridor is part of the Demonstration Project of Technology Application along the corridor which takes environmental protection, beautifulness and safety into full consideration. The entire lighting system uses LED lights while the lighting cable paved underground provides electricity. 

　　The lighting system has not only created beautiful and pleasant night scenery but also increased space and enhanced safety for night activities. Meanwhile, the LED lighting system consumes 50% of electricity compared with traditional lights, which is of positive significance in terms of energy thrift and emission reduction.
