The opening ceremony for the first Luo Benkun Art Museum was held in Shanghai Four Seasons Plaza on the afternoon of Aug. 11. With two exhibition halls and a gross floor area of over 1,000 square meters, the museum will be the venue for free exhibitions and events promoting China's legacy.
The opening exhibition showcased 30 exquisite Thangka printings from Qinghai Province, NUESCO intangible cultural heritage, 16 actual Thangka paintings by Luo Benkun, which enables the general public to have a glimpse of the dazzling ethnical art.
"Hopefully, the Museum will increase the popularity of Thangka by showing historical and cultural trends and development," remarked Zhou Jun, the head of Shanghai Luo Benkun Art Museum, "Meanwhile, it can enhance cultural awareness and provide diversified cultural experience to the public."
