On July 18, the 10th Shanghai International Youth Interactive Friendship Camp launched the “National Theme Show”, with Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shanghai Youth Federation as the sponsors, Shanghai Youth Activity Center as the organizer, and Yangpu District Cultural Center as the supporter.
More than 200 youths from 21 countries including China, Canada and the United Kingdom participated in the event. The show had two parts: the first part was a parade promotion of national characteristics and the second part was an itinerant exhibition of these national characteristics. As the first part, representatives of each country acted as cultural ambassadors and introduced the most representative culture, folk customs and commodities to all participants on the camp so that they could have a deeper learning of their own national cultures. The second part was a cultural marketplace where all camp participants could communicate and exchange national characteristics.
According to the organizers, Shanghai International Youth Interactive Friendship camp, with the theme of “Peace, Friendship and Future”, organizes colorful and meaningful activities to encourage the young participants from different countries to act as ambassadors of civil communication, and inspire them to join their hands promoting world peace and friendship with their own youth and intelligence.
