“Life Channel” helps the children know the signals for exits and learn how to escape for survival. The performance of “Safe Surfing” tells the children how to identify risks in daily life and protect themselves from burning and falling. On May 22, 2015 Shanghai Children Safety Education Project was launched at Benxi Lu Kindergarten.

　　Children accidents keep rising in recent years, claiming the life of more than 200,000 children under the aged of 14 in China every year. Statistics from Shanghai Children Medical Center, 52% of the accidents occur in the family while 19% of the accidents happen on school campus. Preschool children accidents mostly happen at home. Based on the statistics, Shanghai Women’s Federation developed the project to promote children safety education by using strength of all sources from society and in ways of scientific research, teachers’ training, activities and the media propaganda. The purpose is to spread children safety knowledge to all families in the city and improve people’s awareness and ability to avoid the risks.

　　The project launched this year will focus on “Risk Aversion during Family Emergency”. A research program on guiding services on risk aversion during family emergency will be carried out, teaching family safety in local communities, at home and on school campus.
