The first broadcast-level high-resolution intelligent court has been recently put into operation in Yangpu District People’s Court. Zhang Jianmin, Deputy Chief Judge of the district heard public a case of insurance contract dispute in the new court. The column crews of “Economy & Law” of CCTV and “Court Record” of STV shot their programs with recording equipment of the court, which achieved very good results.

　　“The digital equipment of the court is very advanced. People can timely and clearly watch the live trial, which will enhance people’s legal awareness and also improve transparency and credibility of the legal system,” said one resident on the court as an observer, pleased by the high-resolution intelligent court of broadcast level.

　　At the start of this year, Yangpu District People’s Court vigorously promoted the construction of the broadcast-level high-resolution intelligent court so as to actively implement the “Shanghai’s Three-year Plan for Courts’ Informatization Construction” and meet the requirements for press and publicity of the court. The renovation plan was improved continuously to make sure the construction is economic and practical to use. The selection of equipment was focused on the practicality and adaptability of the functions, taking into full consideration of different video formats, interface setup and actual use of multimedia. The court is thus suitable for live TV broadcast, live broadcast online, and remote interrogation, cross examination and opening a court session. These efforts were made to prevent reconstruction in immediate future.

　　As learned, to reach the live TV broadcast effect and minimize construction cost, Yangpu District People’s Court hired a professional firm to design the renovation plan. With basic layout of the court remained unchanged, architectural acoustic equipment of broadcast level has been installed, including 5+1 broadcast-level high-resolution cameras, professional broadcast-level lighting system, professional acoustic collection equipment and signal rewinding system so as to meet live TV broadcast purposes. After the informatization upgrading of the court, people can watch live court trial on TV with high sound and image quality at home.

　　Yangpu District People’s Court also solicited opinions and suggestions from all sections of the court for the renovation so as to facilitate court trial with the upgrading of the system and new hardware. As a result, the challenge that the judge couldn’t remind the clerk in time when finding problems with the trial notes has been tackled effectively.
