Modern education pays more attention to the schooling and scores and ignores internal demands of the children. In recent years, Yangpu District Education bureau and Erlian Primary School have been focusing on overall growth of the students and integrating leisure education into school curriculum so as to enrich the life experience of the children.

　　On June 15, “New Quality School Project” exhibition was held in the auditorium of Yangpu District Erlian Primary School. With the theme of “Return to First Principles & Happily Grow”, the exhibition featured how the school has been constructing its leisure courses, reformingstudents evaluation system and constructing the faculty in the forms of classroom demonstration, president’s keynote speech, digital stories and keynote speeches by representatives from teachers and students.

　　In 2008, the school opened “Sports & Leisure” column based on its characteristic activities. In 2009, the school developed “Art & Leisure” column. With the maturing of courses of the two columns, the school developed two more columns including “Technology & Leisure” and “Life & Leisure” in the next two years. The school has developed its own textbooks on the leisure series.
