The 7th “Digital Future Shanghai” series event was held recently in College of Architecture & Urban Planning (CAUP) of Tongji University. Impressive works by faculties and students of architecture universities across the world wowed visitors, such as bridges printed by 3D technologies, architectural image inspired by cellular structure and visual design for building wind tunnel.
Themed on “visualization and materialization”, the event consisted of 4 parts, namely open-day visits, fabrication workshop, graphic thinking & digital fabrication forum and workshop exhibition, which explore deeply into digital design and fabrication, according to sources. Related exhibition will last till Sept. 30.
For the fabrication workshop, Tongji University’s CAUP, the organizer of the event, has invited 8 outstanding experts from universities across the world as tutors, and deployed 8 robots, 2 Computer number control (CNC) machines, 5 drones, Ultra-wideband (UWB) Indoor Positioning devices, thermal imager, and several 3D printers for technical support.
