Recently, Guoding Road (Handan Road - Zhengli Road) has put on a new appearance, with unified signage and renovated walls, which gave full vitality for the street.

　　Adjacent to the Wujiaochang locality, Guoding Road is an important north-south channel in Yangpu's northwest area. In the past, the walls were rugged and shops were scattered on Guoding Road; in May this year, the Greening Bureau of Yangpu gave an all-round renovation of the shops and the walls along the road based on the actual conditions of the road, striving to make it into a modern street that integrates leisure, vitality and ecology.

　　Guoding Road lies close to Fudan University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and the two hundred-year leading colleges also add cultural and youthful vitality to this road. In the course of the wall renovation, the the Greening Bureau of Yangpu strengthened the appearance and artistry of the walls along the street by using the concept of "towering trees" and various forms such as painting, mosaics and preservative wood-greening.

　　This overhaul effort on Guoding Road has removed 18 illegal settings and outdoor facilities with security risks and negative impact of the city environment, upgraded or repaired 26 shop signs, decorated about 2,480 square meters of facade of buildings and walls, removed 160 black advertising fliers on the facade, and created about 1,200 square meters of mosaic art walls.
